■From 1980s to 1990s, RBD
was generated in the developed European and American ountries.
This complete new business form after traditional CBD emphasizes
the business space that respects humanity. It is the result
of the combination of varied factors of commodities, delicious
food, amusement, leisure, tourism, resort, culture and human
residence. It breaks through the concept of traditional
CBD and Shopping Mall. RBD has a stronger business concept
than CBD. This shopping mode motivates the business by scenery.
It is the complex business body with the ability of forming
independently modern business district and advanced city
with strong business district expansion force.
■There are many well-known RBDs in the
world. For example, Mall of America of Bloomington in Minnesota
is the most famous leisure shopping center in USA. The typical
high proportion of leisure amusement facilities attracts
35 millions to 42 millions person time’s visitors. Japanese
Fukuoka Canal City combines varied functions of tourism
leisure, shopping and ofice. Canadian West Edmonton Mall
has a passenger low of 100,000 person times and the annual
turnover reaches 10 billions USD.
■In European and American countries, the
sales value of RBD is 50% of total sales value of the society.
In Japan, RBD’s unit area sales value is 200% of that of
other retail businesses. So far, there is no oficial RBD
in China. Leisure Expo Garden will become the irst RBD in
China and that will become a success example of Chinese
