Songcheng Australia Embraces New Austral

On November 21, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the Governor-General of Australia has signed legislation to amend the Migration Regulations 1994. According to the amended Regulations, “regular visitors’ visa” with validity of 10 years and multi-entry will be issued to Chinese citizens. This is the first time Australia issues this kind of visa to foreign people and currently it is only open to Chinese citizens.

 

This news has attracted attention from all fields, and it is obviously a positive news for Chinese enterprises’ investment projects in Australia.

According to the new decree, Australia will trial regular visitors’ visa to Chinese regular travelers to Australia engaged in travelling and business activities. Chinese citizens with this kind of visa have access to multi-entry in 10 years’ period, and can stay for up to 90 days during one visit.

The gesture of goodwill is obviously intended to attract more Chinese to travel to Australia or do business here.

As their GDP increasing continuously, the Chinese are having a growing passion for travelling. More and more Chinese begin to travel abroad and reach far beyond countries near their border such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and South Korea.

China has become the most important source of foreign tourists to Australia. In 2015 only, there were more than 1 million Chinese travelling to Australia, who spent 35.5 billion RMB in total.
